Below is a list of changes made in the version listed above

Notes

Please note: WC3 engine has a limit of 100 damage/text tags visible at a time, and this is especially noticeable in multiplayer games in Race/Endless (it counts other players tags as well even if you can’t see them).

You will still see some damage numbers missing from time to time because of that. They however refresh correctly at the start of the next round if the limit has not been met. You can also try to force text tag refresh with the new builder ability if they’re actually bugged, but it can’t override the limit.

Even if you can’t see damage numbers on top of towers, including resource generating boxes, they still work as normal. (it’s just the visual indicator limit on top of the tower that can’t be circumvented)

Note 2: If you still experience lag or fps drops in longer games, the typical culprit is having too many bonus units on your board. If you manually manage your gambling rewards and wisps so that they don’t have stacks of 10+ at a time, it will help with the lag.

General

  • (New) You now start the game with 1 Gold Box
  • Removed gold gained from killing creeps (this also means you don’t lose gold when leaking creeps)
  • (no changes to killing/leaking bosses)
  • Increased round clear gold from +30g to +45g (endless 60+ remains unchanged at +50g for round clear)
  • Adjusted Damage numbers above towers: you can now only see your own, not other players
  • Removed “?” text on a miss, helping with clutter and hopefully fixing unnecessary spam on the board causing other issues
  • Removed all default critical hit texts and adjusted some other text clutter on the screen caused by towers
  • (New) Added a “Tower Fix” button to the Architect (Builder) - has a 45s cooldown
    • (This is meant to serve as a failsafe that you can use on a tower if it has damage numbers missing or if it stops attacking)
  • (New) It is now possible to get max auras in no-gambling modes via Quests and Shop
  • (New) It is now possible to utilize Orange Wisps for the full duration of Damage Test (if you have enough of them)
  • Added a notion to “Focus Fire” Architect (Builder) ability to use it at your own risk.
    • (It has been remade 10 times the past 5 years, but has never worked fully without breaking some other mechanics. It's merely meant to be an experimental tool that allows you to get out of tough positions by focusing your towers on one enemy)
  • (New) Added fixed locations for Blue, Black, and Pink wisp spawns upon gaining them (Wisps bought from the shop will still spawn on top of shop)
  • Added the remaining missing evolution indicators to the Tower Showcase area (bottom left)
  • Added Christmas trees back to the map for the holiday season
  • Adjusted spacing for fixed Wisp spawn locations
  • Added Wisps/Auras gained from completing Quests to the completion message
  • Added a handful of new tooltip icons
  • Fixed Extra Quest 1 and 2 in the UI to show correct info when playing on different modes
  • Adjusted the Quest/Achievement UI tooltip background to be slightly darker - information shown should be more visible now
  • Added a small notion of how Armor is supposed to work to "Map Info"
  • Updated a few hundred tooltips and general in-game info here and there

System Reworks

  • Reworked several core systems: This should fix current issues regarding rounds stop spawning and players desyncing after another player dies or leaves.
  • Reworked core tower indexing: This should fix most tower, dps tag, item, and quest related issues - issues that have been present since 2.0+.
    • (NOTE: There is a hidden wc3 limit of 100 text tags at a time, so this will still cause some damage numbers going blank, but should now properly refresh if the limit is no longer met - starting from next round)
  • Fixed some achievement related issues: Color 23 and Spyro Wizard was not possible to unlock, and a few other changes/fixes.
  • Adjusted Quest/Achievement UI: To be more informative in terms of what unlocks and how. Since the UI is now the only place to get information on how to unlock things, it was missing crucial information that used to be elsewhere before the rework.

Towers

Hedgehog T1

  • Removed combine ability (just a bugfix, you can still use it for rerolls or combines via another tower)

Kabutops T1

  • Renamed the passive to Slash
  • Removed critical hit (10% chance to deal 5x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (10%) from +50 damage to +100 pure damage

Troll Head Hunter T1

  • Damage: from 10 to 15
  • Multishot: from 5 enemies to 4 enemies
  • (New) Can evolve into Troll Shadow Hunter T4

Knight T1

  • Attack damage: from 8 to 10
  • Attack speed: from 0.48 to 0.44
  • Damage to bosses per hit: from 50 to 25

Dame T2

  • Cost to evolve from Knight T1: from 10g to 25g
  • Attack speed: from 0.43 to 0.4
  • Damage to bosses per hit: from 100 to 50 + 0.5% of the targets current HP

King's Mage T3

  • Damage: from 100 to 125
  • Attack speed: from 0.4 to 0.375
  • Icy Spectral (summon) damage: from 100 to 125
  • Damage to bosses per hit: from 150 + 0.75% of MAX HP (tripled for Tank) to 75 + 0.75% of MAX HP (5x for Tank)

Chrono T3

  • Adjusted several Chrono rewards (see Misc. changes)
  • Added a notion to its passive tooltip when freshly built, that it’s not Enhanced yet (only at +0)
  • Removed critical hit (30% chance to deal 2x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (30%) from +100 damage to (35%) +250 pure damage (+4 enhancement)
  • Removed the first +5 upgraded bonus from the final passive that deals pure damage (it was only causing confusion)

Inuyasha T4

  • Now has a max of 10 mana (from null)
  • Starts at 0 mana when built
  • Mana regen: 0.5 (1 mana per 2 seconds)
  • Added a tooltip notion clarifying that you’re buying upgrades
  • Added information to the first ability upgrade tooltip about what the 2nd ability does
  • Added a small popup text tag for when you upgrade an ability
  • Active ability: Wind Scar
    • Removed cooldown (was 15s)
    • Mana cost: from 0 to 5 (effectively now has a 10 second cooldown)
  • Active ability: Backlash Wave
    • Removed cooldown (was 45s)
    • Mana cost: from 0 to 10 (effectively now has a 20 second cooldown)

Dehaka - Mecha T4

  • Removed the upgrade ability from normal Dehaka (forcing regular Dehaka to be upgraded into Mecha)
  • Removed the passive ability (temporarily disabled as a fix, it was a possible cause for random desyncs)
  • Increased base stats as follows: (temporarily, to account for disabling the ability)
    • Damage: from 150 to 500
    • Attack speed: from 1.05 to 0.7
    • Range: from 600 to 700
  • Dehaka - Mecha is for the time being stronger early game, but becomes absolute trash late game

Mountain Giant T5

  • (New) Multishot: Each hit now also deals additional damage equal to 0.5% of the target's current HP

Tauren Bear Form T5

  • Passive: [Feral Bash]
    • Fixed Feral Bash to work as advertised (it basically wasn’t working at all)
    • Stun duration: from 1s to 1.25s

Troll Cat Form T5

  • Renamed the passive to Feral Claw
  • Removed critical hit (10% chance to deal 4x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (10%) from +250 damage to +1500 pure damage

Spicy Noodle Soup T5 (Special Quest 1 reward)

  • Fixed the multishot to deal correct amount of damage (it was dealing less than intended)
  • (New) Each hit now also deals additional damage equal to 0.25% of the targets MAX HP
  • (New) Attacks miss 25% less

Goblin Tinker T5

  • Now starts at 0 mana when built (effectively a 3½ minute wait before you can use the ability for the first time)
  • Active Ability: [Goblin Transmute]
    • Resources gained for killing a creep: from +50g and +5L to +40g and +4L
  • Slightly nerfing the usability of Goblin Tinker. It’s still really good and mandatory for a clean and resourceful run.

Anduin T5

  • Attack damage: from 310 to 350

Anduin - Sci-fi Vigilante T5

  • Now starts at 0 mana when built
  • Attack damage: from 270 to 375

Rifleman T5

  • Cost to evolve from Stimmed Marine T3: from 8L to 75g + 5L
  • Renamed the passive to Armor Piercing Bullets
  • Removed critical hit (15% to deal 2.5x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (15%) from +500 damage to +750 pure damage

Officer T6

  • Cost to evolve from Rifleman T5: from 200g to 200g + 5L
  • Adjusted attack speed: from 0.49 to 0.45
  • Passive: [Officer’s Stun Gun]
    • Stun duration from 0.4s to 0.5s
    • Bonus pure damage on proc: from 750 to 500

Alphamon T6

  • Attack damage: from 750 to 1000
  • Removed critical hit (30% chance to deal 4x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (30%) from +0 damage to +1000 pure damage

Goblin Alchemist T6

  • Passive: [Unstable Concoction]
    • Ability AoE: from 600 to 700
    • Increased Alchemist Bomb main target DPS: from 200 to 500
    • Increased Alchemist Bomb other than main target DPS: from 150 to 250
    • Removed critical hit (25% to deal 5x damage)
    • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (25%) from +250 damage to +750 pure damage

Alolan Raichu T6

  • Passive: [Multishot]
    • Bonus MAX HP damage: from 0.7% of max HP to 0.75% of MAX HP

Orphea - Mobster T6

  • Attack damage: from 500 to 750 (this also directly buffs her passive ability)

Gurumi T6

  • Removed critical hit (20% to deal 20x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (20%) from +0 damage to +350 pure damage

Gurumi T7

  • Removed critical hit (20% to deal 20x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (20%) from +0 damage to +350 pure damage

Li-Ming - Volleyball T7

  • Attack damage: from 290 to 500 (having such a high attack speed, this increases raw DPS by ~2000 before buffs)

Dark Blade T7

  • Cost to evolve from Twin Blade T5: from 300g to 350g
  • Attack damage: from 17k to 15k

Kimchi Stew T8

  • Crit version only:
    • Removed critical hit (10% to deal 95x damage)
    • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (10%) from +0 damage to +100k pure damage

Broly T8

  • Now starts at 0 mana when built
  • Skill lumber costs: from 3-2-1 to 6-5-4 (from 6 total to 15 total) [cost decreases by 1 after each upgrade]
  • Active ability: [Eraser Cannon]
    • Ability range: from 1100 to 1250
    • Total damage from 20k to 30k (can be boosted by +50% (to 45k) if you have “Seconds” unlocked)
  • Passive: [Seconds]
    • Bonus attack damage boost: from +750 to +1500
    • Bonus attack speed boost: from +45% to +50%
    • Added upgrade for [Hit Hard] passive: Now also adds +1000 additional damage per hit if the target is Tank (DT)
  • Passive: [Hit Hard]
    • Chance for attacks to trigger the passive: from 35% to 50%
    • Damage for having more than 50% mana: from 1250 to 1750 (Having “Seconds” doubles the base effect (3500) + 2% of max HP)
    • Damage for having less than 50% mana: from 2500 to 3500 (Having “Seconds” doubles the base effect (7000) +10% of max HP)
    • Having “Seconds”: Now also adds +1000 additional damage per hit if the target is Tank (DT)

Ice Golem T8

  • Attack damage: from 650 to 1000 (has splash of 400)
  • Active ability: [Freeze!] (all enemies within 1000 AoE around the tower)
    • Fixed the debuff tooltip
    • Now starts at 0 Charges
    • Max. Charges: from 25 to 5
    • (New) Generates 1 Charge every 60s
    • (New) Now also applies Frostbite, dealing 5000 (pure) damage to all units hit
    • Freeze duration: from 3.5s to 4.0s
    • Cooldown: from 5s to 7s
  • It can now generate charges, effectively giving you one charge of Freeze every 60 seconds. Ice Golem can now stay on your board, allowing you to have a max of 5 charges at any given time per Ice Golem. This is a major change to its functionality, as it used to have 25 charges that didn’t regenerate, but is now slower to get online with better long term usage, as opposed to having instant access to spammable Freeze whenever rolled.

Exodia The Forbidden One T8

  • Attack speed: from 0.7 to 0.55
  • Adjusted splash AoE on attack: from 360 to 400
  • Added a tooltip notion in-game that states the splash AoE
  • Removed critical hit (20% to deal 4x damage)
  • Adjusted the damage bonus on proc (20%) from +2500 damage to +5000 pure damage
  • Adjusted bonus damage dealt to Tank (DT): from +7500 to +10000

D.Va - Cat Dress (T8)

  • Attack damage: from 2500 to 2750 (this also directly buffs her passive ability)

All D.Va’s T8-9

  • Adjusted tooltips slightly to be more clear on how to get the bonuses

Shadow Elemental T9

  • Passive: [Shadow Strike]
    • Removed all visual damage text from the ability (it was causing too much unnecessary clutter)
    • Removed the base initial damage (was 7.5k on initial hit)
    • Adjusted damage interval (tick) to be exactly 1.0s (duration is 7s)
    • Adjusted %MAX HP tick damage: from 10% per tick, to 15% per tick
    • (full duration damage is now 52.5k pure damage + 105% of MAX HP, up from 52.5k + 70%)
    • (New) Each source of damage dealt by Shadow Elemental now deals 7.5k bonus damage if the target is Tank (DT)
    • (New) Attacks miss 50% less

Demonic Tower T9

  • Increased max amount of allowed Demonic Towers: from 2 to 3
  • (New) Attacks miss 25% less

Ragnaros T9

  • Adjusted requirements to evolve from Baby Ragnaros T9:
    • Wisp requirement from: 1 Black Wisp to 5x Red, 5x Yellow, 1x Blue, 1x Black Wisps
    • Cost: from 15L to 500g and 25L

New Tower

(New) Troll Shadow Hunter T4 (Special Tower)

  • Max. 1 at any given time
  • Cost to evolve from Troll Head Hunter T1: 100g and 5 lumber (And have 3x Red and 3x Yellow Wisps)
  • Base stats:
    • Damage: 50
    • Range: 600
    • Attack speed: 0.5
  • Multishot: Attacks 5 enemies within range
  • Has a 2% chance on each multishot hit to summon a plain "Shadow Copy" of itself on the battlefield, lasting for 5s
  • (The copy has 2x Damage, 2x Attack speed, and multishot, but doesn’t retain any buffs the parent tower might have)

Boss changes

  • Ursus Arctos Horribilis (Round 6 boss): Base HP from 1000 to 1750
  • Ursus Arctos Horribilis (Round 6 boss): Base Armor from 1 to 2
  • Ursus Arctos Horribilis (Round 6 boss): Removed bonus HP regeneration
  • The Wandering Knight (Round 12 boss): Base HP from 3.5k to 3.75k

Generator changes (Basic Quest 10 reward)

  • Gold Generator upgrade cost to [Lvl 2]: from 150g to 225g (takes 7.5 minutes to pay for itself)

  • Adjusted achievement tracking and functionality in general, fixing random issues

[Paladin] (Extreme Skin+Title)

  • Adjusted Orange Wisp requirement: from at least 1 to at least 6

[Super Saiyan] (Master Color)

  • Adjusted requirement: 3x Broly (T8) with full abilities, to: 2x Broly (T8) with full abilities
  • Adjusted requirement: from Deal 1b damage to DT, to: deal 500m damage to DT
  • (Super Saiyan required way too much RNG to pull it off in Master mode (1 in 250-500 games), so roughly halving the requirements. The newly introduced mechanics and adjustments should also help with this one.)

[Noob King] (Master Skin+Title)

  • Adjusted requirement: You’re not allowed to ever build a Troll Shadow Hunter (T4), if you build it and reroll into something else, the achievement will fail

[The Void] (Endless Color 23)

  • Fixed the achievement to be obtainable

[Slow Killer] (Endless Title)

  • Adjusted round requirement: from round 70 to round 80
  • Adjusted time requirement: from more than 120 minutes (2 hrs) to more than 100 minutes

[Spyro Wizard] (Endless Skin+Title)

  • Fixed the achievement to be obtainable
